At 2Dgamecity, we specialize in sourcing the best N64 cartridges — including rare finds and fan-favorite classics. Here are the top 10 must-have N64 cartridges for any serious collection.

1. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

A timeless action-adventure that blends acrobatic platforming with mind-bending time manipulation. Sands of Time is one of the most beloved games of its era and a crown jewel in any N64 collection. Its fluid gameplay and gripping story make it endlessly replayable.

2. SMASH REMIX

A fan-made expansion of Super Smash Bros. for the N64, SMASH REMIX adds a massive roster of new fighters, stages, and modes to the original game. If you love the original Smash Bros., this cartridge is an absolute must-have — it breathes new life into a classic.

3. Shiren the Wanderer 2

A legendary roguelike dungeon crawler that was never officially released in English — until now. Shiren the Wanderer 2 is a deep, challenging, and rewarding experience for fans of the genre. Our English-translated cartridge lets Western players finally enjoy this Japanese classic.

4. Custom Robo

Build your ultimate robot and battle your way through an action-packed RPG. Custom Robo is a cult classic that combines deep customization with fast-paced arena combat. Originally released only in Japan, our translated version makes it fully accessible to English-speaking players.

5. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

No N64 collection is complete without Ocarina of Time. Widely regarded as one of the greatest video games ever made, this epic adventure set the standard for 3D action-RPGs and remains a masterpiece decades later.

6. GoldenEye 007

The game that defined console first-person shooters. GoldenEye 007 is a must-own for any N64 collector, offering a legendary single-player campaign and a multiplayer mode that still holds up today.

7. Banjo-Kazooie

Rare's beloved platformer starring a bear and his bird companion is one of the N64's finest games. With charming characters, inventive worlds, and tight gameplay, Banjo-Kazooie is a joy from start to finish.

8. Paper Mario

A charming RPG that reimagines the Mushroom Kingdom in a gorgeous paper-craft style. Paper Mario features a clever turn-based battle system, witty writing, and a memorable cast of characters.

9. Majora's Mask

Darker and more experimental than Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask is a haunting masterpiece built around a three-day time loop mechanic. It's one of the most unique and emotionally resonant games on the N64.

10. Conker's Bad Fur Day

An irreverent, adult-oriented platformer that pushed the N64 to its limits. Conker's Bad Fur Day is hilarious, technically impressive, and unlike anything else in the N64 library — making it a prized collector's item.
